EFLA and Surefni begin cooperation

Surefni announced cooperation with EFLA Consulting Engineers and Ísorka following discussions between the organisations.

The December 2024 announcement described EFLA’s work on sustainability and carbon footprint calculations for organisations of different sizes, together with detailed life-cycle assessment where appropriate. It also noted EFLA’s ability to calculate environmental impacts associated with particular products and services.

That work complemented Surefni’s role in supporting responsible use of certified credits. The announcement described active credits from the Ísorka charging infrastructure project as a means of addressing emissions after the relevant footprint had been calculated.

The article connected the cooperation to Icelandic and international standards and guidance on responsible offsetting. Its practical focus was the sequence of understanding an organisation’s emissions, then selecting and using documented credits for the relevant mitigation purpose.
