Hópbílar signed a four-year agreement with Surefni concerning carbon offsetting for all driving services it provided for the municipality of Hafnarfjörður. The May 2025 announcement said the arrangement used active, certified carbon credits from the Ísorka project developed with Surefni.
The Ísorka project measures the effect of expanded EV charging access on fossil fuel use and develops credits from that measured effect.
The announcement linked the agreement to updated Icelandic guidance on responsible carbon offsetting, the ÍST TS 92:2022 technical specification and ICROA requirements. It also referred readers to the Environment Ministry’s report on Icelandic carbon markets.
This archive entry records the scope and standards references described when the agreement was announced. The four-year term is a historical contractual detail, rather than a statement about the agreement’s current status.
