Klappir and Surefni signed an agreement intended to help companies and public institutions develop, monitor and pursue certification for sustainability projects. The partnership connected Klappir’s reporting software with Surefni’s project development and advisory work.
The announcement described a clearer route for Klappir customers to projects that reduce environmental impacts and support the circular economy. Klappir’s software would help organisations manage sustainability information; Surefni would support project methodology, development and preparation for independent assessment.
Two existing projects illustrated the approach. Ísorka’s charging infrastructure project measured the effect of installing and operating EV chargers on fossil fuel use. Pure North’s Icelandic plastic recycling project focused on local cleaning and recycling, with certification intended to make the process and its impacts transparent.
Representatives from both businesses emphasised the need for clear methodology, data and credible assessment. The announcement presented the cooperation as a practical connection between environmental information and the next steps needed to implement and demonstrate a project’s results.
