Carbon project advisory for electric vehicle charging.
Surefni oversaw the certification process for Ísorka’s electric vehicle charging project under Verra’s VM0038 methodology and supported the sale of its carbon credits. The engagement connected an operating charging network with a documented carbon project pathway.

The project.
Ísorka’s project applies a carbon methodology to electric vehicle charging infrastructure in Iceland. The project pathway uses Verra’s VM0038 methodology to assess emissions reductions associated with charging activity. It draws on the operator’s records of its charging operations and the evidence required to describe the activity as a carbon project.
Our role.
Surefni coordinated the certification pathway and supported the commercial introduction of the project’s credits. In its announcement of 21 May 2024, Ísorka identified Surefni as the consultancy that oversaw the process and handled credit sales. The engagement illustrates our role in connecting the project operator, the technical process and organisations seeking to purchase credits.
A documented milestone.
Ísorka reported that the certification process was completed at the end of March 2024. The operator’s announcement links to Verra project 3922 and describes the project’s methodology and operating context. This milestone forms part of Surefni’s experience supporting an established operating business through a carbon project pathway.
Project and purchase enquiries.
We support enquiries from organisations interested in the project and its credits. An enquiry can identify the intended purchase purpose, reporting period and quantity required, allowing the relevant project information to be discussed in a defined context. The same advisory approach starts with a clear understanding of the client’s objective and the evidence needed for its decision.
